Broadcast Operator
New Mexico PBS at the University of New Mexico seeks detail-oriented candidates for a Broadcast Operator position. Under general supervision, this position ensures continuity of broadcast programming and serviceability of equipment during operating hours. Maintains all required program and operational logs to demonstrate FCC compliance.
Oversees the proper broadcasting of our 5 broadcast streams, plus internet streaming, satellite delivery and file-based content. Works on roster within a 7-day workweek, 19 hour per day operating schedule. Creates broadcasting program schedule; which schedules times, space and dates for broadcast coverage. Coordinates, orders and maintains logs on broadcast rights for programs aired.
Broadcast Technology Tech, Sr
Under limited supervision, leads the installation, maintenance, operation, testing and repair of broadcast, satellite and/or television transmission systems, equipment and networks. Utilizes advanced knowledge to plan, lead and implement technical solutions to a wide variety of problems of a comprehensive and complex nature. Provides functional direction to support personnel and serves as a technical subject-matter expert on technical and operational issues. Maintains documentation in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations and University policies and procedures.
Multimedia Producer/Dir, Sr
New Mexico PBS is looking for a strong environmental journalist to join our public affairs team.
Under limited supervision, the Multimedia Producer/Dir, Sr is responsible for the research,
planning, production, and direction of on-air environmental multimedia stories to be published
online and on air as part of our growing project: Our Land – New Mexico’s Environmental Past,
Present and Future. Successful candidates will be responsible for schedules, managing, and
directing production crew as well as providing technical expertise during production. Manages
the completion of the production, including editing and final documentation and works closely
with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer of our weekly public affairs show New Mexico
in Focus, where the majority of the multimedia stories will air.

This position has a broad scope including the traditional budget and finance responsibilities as well as overseeing our compliance with UNM, Corporation for Public Broadcasting and Federal Communication Commission regulations, real estate leases, contract negotiations, inventory control, sponsored projects, and working with numerous external and community partners. This position is fast-paced and varied, making it a great fit for those that enjoy thinking on their feet and engaging in creative problem solving. This position supervises 2 FTE, serving an annual budget of $10M, with an annual financial statement audit component.
