Community

At NMPBS, we’re proud to serve the diverse communities throughout our beautiful state.

To that end, we are continually partnering with community groups, filmmakers, schools and other non-profit organizations to help improve our quality of life. We broadcast stories vital to the public interest, and endeavor to bring those programs out into our communities whenever possible.

We hold free public screenings of important films, bringing in the filmmakers to explain the importance of their stories, and get feedback directly from our audience.

We offer monthly Science cafes’ bringing together local scientists to speak on their work and the ever-changing frontiers of science.

Through our Education Outreach department, we partner with local schools to train teachers in the use of free PBS Learning Media curricula, standards-aligned videos, interactive materials, lesson plans and more. We bring together artists and subjects, historians and history buffs, and all with the greatest care taken for transparency and public access.
